Michael La Sala , DO, MS, CCTR

Dr. Michael La Sala was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attended the University of Florida (UF) for his undergraduate degree in biology.

He completed three years of a PhD in neuroscience at the McKnight Brain Institute at UF before he decided to switch careers and go into medicine. He completed a Master’s degree in medical science with a focus on neurosciences and obtained a certificate in clinical and translational research. He then completed medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has recently completed his residency as chief resident in psychiatry at Stony Brook University Eastern Long Island Hospital.

He is now obtaining a fellowship in psychosomatic psychiatry at Stony Brook University Hospital. Throughout his career, he has published 10 research papers on various neurological and psychiatric topics. Dr. La Sala specializes in diagnosing and treating adult patients with complex disorders including post-covid syndrome, chronic lyme disease, depression, ADHD, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and OCD. Dr. La Sala also specializes care for patients that struggle with addiction including alcohol, benzodiazepine, opiates, and nicotine.
